Who are we?

Polysium was born from a simple observation: pollination is essential to agriculture, yet it remains largely unmeasured, poorly managed and often misunderstood.
We are developing a scientific and operational approach to analyze, understand and improve crop pollination, with a focus on sustainable performance and biodiversity.
Origins of Polysium

Polysium was born at the intersection of three worlds:

Field
expertise

Beekeeping

Technology
Faced with growing uncertainties — declining natural pollinator populations, yield variability and environmental pressures — we wanted to provide a new response :
make pollination measurable, analyzable and manageable through data.
Our ambition is not to add more beehives, but to provide reliable indicators to support agricultural decision-making.
Research & innovation
Pollination cannot be left to chance.
Polysium relies on:
- field-based experimental protocols
- in-depth analysis of floral resources
- data collection through connected beehives
- analysis and interpretation of the collected data
Our approach is based on a key principle:
measure before taking action.
Each plot is a specific ecosystem.
We seek to understand its specific dynamics in order to provide tailored, credible and measurable recommendations.
At Polysium, innovation is not an end in itself: it serves a better understanding of biological balances.

The team

Behind Polysium is a multidisciplinary team, supported by committed partners who combine technology, field expertise and scientific analysis to make pollination measurable and sustainable.

Fabien Dufournel
Founder & Project Director
An IT engineer from a family of beekeepers, Fabien is the founder of Polysium. He leads the company's vision, development and strategic partnerships. After creating Be Keeper in 2017, he launched Polysium in 2025 to put technology and data at the service of agricultural pollination. He designs and structures solutions to measure, analyze and manage pollination over the long term.

Lorris Niard
Beekeeping expert
A beekeeper since 2004 with a background in ecology, Lorris has developed a demanding approach adapted to the realities of agricultural environments. At Polysium, he oversees hive installation and monitoring, with particular attention to local conditions and colony health.

Charles Alves
Sales & Growth Manager – Beekeeping Partnerships
Sales & Growth Manager at
Polysium, Charles is also the main point of contact for operators and partner beekeepers. With a strong understanding of field challenges, he helps build sustainable synergies between the different stakeholders and deploy projects tailored to each situation.

Aurélie Souillet
Strategy & Communications
Aurélie contributes to Polysium's strategic development and to communicating the value of its approach. She ensures consistency between technical expertise, field realities and agricultural challenges, making pollination easier to understand and its data more accessible to stakeholders across the sector.
Our partners

Onwi
Technology Design & Production
Onwi supports Polysium in the design and production of the technological solutions deployed in the field.
Specializing in the development and industrialization of connected systems, its team ensures the robustness, reliability and adaptability of the IoT devices used for data collection.

AB Labo
Scientific analysis
AB Labo, a laboratory specializing in the analysis of bee products, supports Polysium in the analysis and interpretation of honey samples collected during field experiments.
Its expertise provides an objective assessment of floral diversity and available resources, adding a scientific perspective to the data collected in the field.
